REDBRIDGE DAY: Race + Track Use
Sunday 7th April, 2019

This will be a day for racing, coaching and training, to mark the start of Spring!

The race will be as follows -

• 30 Minutes made up of -
  • 15 minutes on the lower track;
  • ski up the hill and remaining laps on upper track;
• 10.00 track is available to use, warm up on;
• 12.00 pick up provided Marwe 610A roller skis, skate technique;
• 12.30 race begins;
• No timing equipment;
• No decent prizes;
• Stick on numbers provided if entries exceed 20;
• Entry is £12 / £6;
• Use of the track for the whole day (10-16.00) is included;
• Results posted on Facebook later the same day;
• Suitable for novice racers, but not novice roller skiers. The ability to go down a moderate hill is essential.

The race is meant to be a low-key affair, to get you used to the Marwe skis and in the mood for the 'proper' London roller ski races, run with much greater efficiency by the London Region Nordic Ski Club. Their first race, which is also the first in the 2019 GB Rollerski Series, is on Sunday 12th May, 10k Free Technique, also on the same Marwe 610A matched 'fleet'.

Track use for own practice -

Just come and practice for £10 / £5. There's nearly 2k of very good tarmac, with a flatter lower section and a hillier top section. Available from 10-16.00.

We meet by the van, between the car park and the the main building, 09.50.

Facilities - we have exclusive use of the whole track. Also, a meeting room in the main centre building, toilets, lockers, changing rooms and showers. Snacks as well as tea and coffee may be purchased on site.

Nearest Tube / Train: Fairlop on the Central Line 15 minute walk. You can also cycle from Dagenham Heathway (District Line, cycles allowed on Sundays) or Goodmayes (National Rail / Elizabeth Line).
