Name: Yevgeny Gorbenko

Qualifications: Snowsport England qualified rollerski instructor

Experience: Yevgeniy has been involved in coaching cross-country skiing all his working life. He studied sport science at Voronezh State Technological University, Russia, graduating in 1983. He went on to be cross-country ski coach at a specialist sport school in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, USSR before studying the 'dependence of results in shooting on heart rate in biathlon racing' at Moscow University of Sport in 1987. From 1987 to 1994 he was Head Coach of an Olympic Reserve cross country ski and biathlon squad in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The collapse of the Soviet Union - and funding for cross-country ski coaching - led him to the UK. When he is not coaching rollerskiing / cross-country skiing, he is a piano polisher in London.

Other interests: history, music, playing the guitar, travel.

Achievements: leading Masters skier, British Rollerski Series, 2009

Special expertise: theory of sports training, planning the training process, sports diet and servicing of skis. Making training programmes for those who want to improve endurance, strength, technique and general health.

What does he do: roller skiing sessions (beginners, intermediate, advanced) in Richmond Park, Hyde Park and Dorney Lake, private lessons in Richmond Park (his local park), creating training programmes
