Name: Barbara Grogan

From: Minnesota, USA.

Occupation: Health communications consultant, outdoor sports enthusiast and fitness advocate interested in encouraging more people (especially women and girls) to take up sports.

Education: University of Northern Michigan.

Successes: As a junior, won gold and bronze medals at the US Junior National Championships; achieved National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) all-American ranking while competing for Northern Michigan University. Competed in the US Olympic Trials in 1992 and 1994.

Coaching background: extensive coaching experience while an athlete, went on to coach the US Disabled Nordic Ski Team at the 1997 IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships and 1998 Winter Paralympics in Nagano, Japan. Skied as an ambassador for Fischer-Swix before moving the UK in 2008. Snowsport England qualified instructor.

Instructing in London: regular club coach on Tuesday evening in Hyde Park, has coached for Snowsport England on their Summer courses.

Racing: 3rd in the GB Rollerski Championships 2015 - on slower racing wheels! Competed in the American Birkebeiner in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2015, US Masters National Championships in 2006 and the Engadin Marathon in 2015.
