Cross-country news - 1/9/5 The British Biathlon Union has announced the programme for the 2006 British National Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon Championships. These races are open to all, and an increasing number of non-military skiers have been getting involved in recent years, and doing increasingly well compared with the military. The small Bavarian town of Ruhpolding is taken over for two weeks by the British, and its visitors are made to feel most welcome, with ceremonies laid on with the help of the burgermeister and village. A great way of training for this is to do rollerskiing. Iain and Fergus of the Rollerski Co will be competing in these events, and will help you prepare for racing. We'd encourage you to join us on rollerskis and on snow over the New Year in Norway. |
